Out of Hours
During the daytime a receptionist can contact the doctor on call. After 6.00pm and at weekends, when the surgery is closed, your call will be automatically forwarded to the Badger Out of Hours Service. If you want to ring them direct, their number is 0300 1 30 30 30. You can also ring NHS Direct for advice on 0845 4647.

Home Visits
The doctor will visit any patient who is too ill to attend the surgery – please telephone before 9.30am wherever possible if you require a home visit.

Cancelling your Appointment
If you are unable to attend an appointment with one of the doctors or nurses, please telephone us as soon as possible, so the appointment can be used by another patient.

prescriptionsWhen the doctor has recommended that your treatment may be repeated, the preferred method is that the request be sent with a stamped, self-addressed envelope so that the prescription can be posted back to you. Telephone requests will only be accepted only where your repeats are four items or less, between 11.30 a.m. and 3.30 p.m. Monday to Friday.

Online requests are also available using the link at the top of this page. Submitted online repeat prescription requests will be accessed every working-day morning at 9 a.m. and your prescription/s will be available for collection after 12 noon the following working-day .

A minimum of 24 hours notice is required for repeat prescriptions, except in cases of extreme urgency. The prescriptions are usually signed the following morning after surgery so that the doctors are not constantly being interrupted to sign prescriptions.

You will be required to see the Doctor periodically to check that your medication is having the desired effect.
