Appointments
Appointments can be made by telephone or in person. Routine appointments with the doctor or nurse will usually be available within two working days. The doctor will always see urgent cases the same day. Patients will be seen promptly and any lengthy delay will be explained.
Peel Croft Surgery provides routine surgeries every morning from Monday to Friday, and afternoons every day except Wednesday. These surgeries are run with an appointment system. The surgery is closed on Saturday and Sunday, and in case of emergency, please telephone for further instructions.
On Wednesday afternoon, we offer an emergency on-call service only, shared with King Street surgery, and a doctor from either surgery may attend.
Urgent appointments will be given the same day and young children will be seen on the day of request. We aim to see all patients within twenty minutes of their appointment time. Reception staff will inform you upon arrival if there is likely to be a longer wait.
Appointment Lengths
The allocated length of an appointment is 10 minutes. However, if you think you will need more than 10 minutes please ask for a longer appointment. If you need to bring your children with you into the consultation we would remind you that you are still responsible for their behaviour. The doctor or nurse may stop the consultation and ask you to re-book if children become unruly If you require more than one member of the family to see the doctor or nurse, please inform the receptionist. One appointment is for one person only.
